The Year 2009 brought honour and glory to the IMA Badagara Branch. Badagara branch has always been in the forefront of activities of IMA, bagging the coveted S S Rao Memorial Shield for being the best branch of the state three times and was held at high esteem by the State Headquarters. The decision of choosing Badagara branch as the venue of the 52nd Annual State Conference of INA, Kerala State on 13th 14th, and 15th November 2009 indeed delighted us despite the fact that it is adaunting taskto host a mammoth conference of a mighty association.
We have taken up the challenge of hosting the state Conference during 38 years of gracious existence of our branch. The members of IMA Vadakara unanimously elected Dr.C.Vijayaraghavan as the Chairman of the organising Committee; Dr. K M Abdulla as the secretary , Dr. .A.T. Vijayan as Treasurer, Dr MMuraleedharan and Dr. P. Naseer as the General Conveners. We had absolutely no difficulty in forming the various committees, imparting responsibility to the appropriatepersons. It was indeed a committee of doctors with integrity andcredibility.Since then we have been gearing up and working a single unit utilising all human and material resources at our disposal.
Our Conference was most appropriately named "KADATHANAD IMA CON 2009”, reminding the delegates of the rich cultural heritage and heroic exploits narrated in the folk songs the "Vadakkan Pattukal" of this part of Northern Kerala. We express our sincere thanks and immense gratitude to the magnanimity of Sri Gokulam Gopalan who provided the wonderful Sree Gokulam Public School as the venue of our conference. The school had all the modern facilities and amenities of a Public School in par with the Public School of a cosmopolitan city. The lyrical spell of words and the magical voice, at a clam and tranquil atmosphere resulted in tears rolling down the cheeks of the gathering. To bring ont a souvenir is a dauntingtask, a challenge beyond comprehension. In spite of many constraints we havetried our best to make it more informative and interesting with an attractive cover page. Complements do carry the memories of the conference. The attractive feature of our conferencewas the two very useful compliment which is well appreciated by the delegates ASTER MIMSKozhikode has been magnanimous enough to provide a very useful and attractivecarry bag of supreme quality, spacious enoughto carry two days travel belongings of a delegate. Another gracious gesture has come from the business magnate of Kurikkilad Village near the venue, GeepasBasheer who was kind enough to provideGeepas Rechargeable LED flash Light as a complimentary gift to be given to the delegates. Wonderful hospitality, excellent delicious food, comfortable stay, above all the enchanting venue are theattractive features of our conference; the delegatescan remember forever.
